Anywayz- This is something from the new Lord Havok & The Extremists book I filled in on. Crazy DC Elseworld stuff collides with my grey matter.

I liked this panel. I did it different about 3 or four times. I hated the angle at first. But I kinda settled on this one. I feel it works best here for the scene.

WELCOME TO THE JUNGLE

So i know it's been awhile since i posted anything new up in hurr.

But today is the day people!!

This one was inspired by Dave Cockrum's Brood storyline where Wolverine is on a whacked out jungle planet where the planet life looks oddly phallic or vagina like.

(SIDENOTE-I'm currently reading X-Men Essential VOL. 4 it's rad you should pick it up.)

Anywayz- Dave Cockrum was a master stroyteller and even though I would say i wasn't crazy about his style per say...I loved his draftman ship and storytelling.

Nobody does those funky Close-up face profile flashback thingies like He did.

RING BLING

So i got a surprise call from an old friend last night.

We use to be partners in crime in the Comic biz but alas...Sometimes things get..."Muddy and Murk-filled". But we have alot in common about what we do and don't like about comics and basically we both kinda sorta come to a mutual agreement that Green Latern is an insane concept that has yet to reach it's insane potential.

Awhile back some of the folks over at DC asked me to do a redesign on and old head GL from way back in the day.

I went for a "Lovecraftian" feel on this piece.

It's actually in the new Green Latern: Secret Files for anyone interested in checking it out (ON SALE NOW!!).

This was actually my 2nd "official" ink job on myself as well...I think it turned out ok.

RID OF ME

Happy New Year.

It's the Year of the Rat.

New slate. I had a tough time of things ending the year of 2007. But fought through getting my head right and push on thru the Holiday madness and all the entails.

So most of the drawing that got done was Spider-Man related. I had to put the pedal to the metal there...Since I started working on the project I never truly felt comfortable.

Until Last night.

I did a killer page (IMO). Pulled an all-niter basically...Listening to some PJ Harvey & Karen O. I realized that these two ladies go great to together with Spider-Man smashing thru things.

Who knew.

PINK IS THE NEW BLACK

SO.

XMAS is over.At least for me it is. It's back to it. Back to the grinder. The "grinder" is exactly what it sounds like...

I received a brand new art set up which was pretty timely and inspiring thanx to the Skut. Who is now aptly named MS.MARVEL because she's awesome. I'd bee working with a rigged up ghetto-ized set up for awhile now...The table shifted at times because it was uneven on one side. The lamp light flickered for God knows what reason. ( personally i think it's because when i'm jamming out to say...DANZIG i'm smashing my pencils into the lamp shield like it's a drum cymbal or somethin'.) And my chair was an old school wooden get up. Not good for the back at all.

But as another year wanes away from us- I put away the old in with the new- and hopefully with the new table some better Chi.



Christmas was good to us.We had a rocking good tree.(as pictured)

We made some stellar cookies. (as pictured)

and I recieved many goodies...(as pictured)

And yes...I am in a pink robe. Whut of it?

Pink is the new black yo.

CHANNEL 48

Anybody remember Gatchaman or "G-Force" as it was called when i watched it here in america on Channel 48 in Philly?

Well- i'm going full blown with "sketchbook" theme thing in my soon to be first ever official Mark A. Robinson sketchbook to be on sale at a convention near you hopefully sometime in 2008!

I'm calling it ALIEN TECHNOLOGY 2 MARS ( Mars is me for the unaware- it's pretentious- i know but it's my planet rising in my zodiac sign as well as my name in Greek Mythology ( God of War yo.)Anyone who knows me knows this rings true...I'm loud,boisterous,rock-a-fella'd out, and nice...always remember nice.Like Patrick Swayze in Roadhouse.

Anywayz--- It's gonna be called that. And it's gonna be cool. and good. and Spectacular Spectacular! And this piece is gonna grace it. Once i correct it...

I'm told there's some bits missing here and there and flaws. It'll be in there like Ragu...or was it Prego?

LUCKY STAR

SO i totally believe my woman is psychic.

Months ago when I got word that the Storm Shadow series was getting canceled- and when i started sending out frantic panic portfolio emails to the BIG 2...she goes...

"I can see you working for both."

And it happened. I got DC work. Later I was asked to do some try out characters for Marvel. I really wanted Ghost Rider...But i digress...I did a Spider Man too...Wasn't too gah-gah over my Spidey--- but he was part of the test.

I heard no word on what I would be doing for weeks for the House of Ideas...

Then i get one of those preview books and Spider Man is plastered all over it. The next morning i wake up and Spider-Man has a message written all over his face on my drawing board.

"You better start drawing me...In two weeks."

And in two weeks...I get word i'm drawing Spider-Man.

weird right?

Gets better.

Two days ago while Xmas shopping in Borders...She picks up this very popular magazine (she says i'm not allowed to say the name outloud or print it).

She goes...

"I can see you working for these guys. You should email them. And I do."

The first email collapses and doesn't go thru. So i get wrapped up in my workload and forget it. She comes home and asks me what they said?

I tell her the email was never sent. She gives me the face.

"The face is the arched eyebrow. It looks alot like when Kirk says something ridiculaz to Spock."

So i send another one. This time to the editor in chief. When i realize that the first email was going to go to customer service.

Today I got a bounce back from that Editor.

I love that woman. Madonna apparently is not the only person with a Lucky Star.
